Fight club (FC) is the unique world with its own laws and rules. People playing this game spend a lot of time, passing through the life full of joy and trials. For many of them FC becomes their second home. Here you will find not just a plenty of ways for the self-expression, but also new friends, or possibly some enemies! Like as in any world, in FC there are many frauds and gamblers. Presumably you will have to fall in with this kind of people, that is why we would like you to spend a couple of minutes of your time, read and adopt a few really simple rules, that will help you to avoid the traps of these frauds.
I. Password to your character.
There are some people practicing stealing your character's possession. For instance, somehow (there are lots of ways of doing it) they will find the password to your character. Then, they will log in as your character, change the password and finally transfer all your credits and inventory to the other characters.
Rule1. The password has to be difficult to remember.
Your password:
-must not appear to be systematic ( eg '123', '12345', 'qwe', 'qwer', 'asd', 'zzz', etc.)
-must not be based on your real-life information like your name, date of birth, name of your favorite pet, etc.
The password should not be really short and simple, because it is easier for an attacker to guess it or mount a trial-and-error attack against it. But at the same time the password must not be too complicated, otherwise you can easily forget it. A good password should contain a combination of upper- and lowercase letters, digits, or other special characters.
Rule 2. Under no circumstances, you do not give a password to your character.
Some of the players, lying to be an administration representative or a paladin, may ask you to give them your password. The cause may be different; everything depends on how rich cheater's imagination is.
For instance, you can receive an e-mail like that:
'We are sorry to inform you that we're currently having a big problem with our characters data base. We will be really pleased if you can help us to restore the system and send both login and the password of your character.
Yours faithfully,
Administration'
Nonsense! Under no circumstances, you do not write your login and password in any registration forms, e-mails or questionnaires! Neither paladins, nor the administration need to know your password. The only people who need your password are the cheaters and hijackers willing to steal your faithfully earned credits and inventory.
Rule 3. Do not use the same login and password for the different web-resources.
If you are invited to the new web-pages devoted to the Fight Club, or the chat where the almighty Dustman can answer all your questions, or even a new super-mega online-game, where you have to write your login and password, never write your FC's password! If you really want to register on these web-pages, please enter your new login and password. But never use the same password to access different web-resources. This rule will definitely help you in your future life.
Rule 4. You can only enter your login and password on www.combats.com
If you are given a link to the web-site like www.combats2.maybe.not with the description like 'Finally we have opened a new city in the FC', or 'Mega lottery, hard to lose, easy to win', where you get lots of freebies and credits, etc, and by entering these pages you get to the 100% copy of the FC, where you need to enter your login and password, you must know: that is another trap from the side of the well-known frauds.
Rule 5. Do not setup and launch any unknown programs on your computer.
In the fight club you may be asked to purchase or get a free copy of some program, which will work the miracles (abilities depend on how rich fraud's imagination is…). In other words, it will promise you a better life in the fight club. Do not load any kind of these problems on your computer. The majority of these small programs are Trojans or spyware (a program that help attacker get an unauthorized access to your computer and/or steal your passwords) or viruses.
The same rule may help you, when you receive the similar programs via the e-mail.
Rule 6. Do not use free mailing addresses from the servers like hotmail.com, etc.
An e-mail address on the server like hotmail.com can be easily hacked. Believe us, there are many ways of doing it, but this topic is not about it. If you use an e-mail address like myname@hotmail.com for your character and the hacker finds this out, you can easily lose your character.
And what if you have not disregarded all these tips and your character has finally been stolen?
- If all your character's credits and inventory were stolen, change your password and make a transaction report ('Settings/Inventory' - 'Transaction report'). If your inventory/credits were all sent to some other character, please refer to paladins; so that they can catch the thief and try to do everything that is possible to return your belongings.
- If the thief changes your password, you'll be notified about it by the e-mail, which you have used during the registration.
- In order to change your e-mail address, you have to show your previous e-mail address that can not be seen in the game process. That's why you should not tell your e-mail address to anybody.
- You can not change both e-mail and password at the same time. A period of three days must pass. (this is used to give you as a true owner of the character some time to make a proper decision, but we strongly recommend you to refer to paladins)
- Nothing helped you? You have lost your character, password and e-mail address? Via your friends (or by registering a new character) please refer to paladins as soon as possible, in order to block your previous character. Or you can write an e-mail to returns@combats.com, showing your login, the date of the hijacking, the password on the time of the hijacking, e-mail address as was shown during the registration.
